Create tasks

Restrictions

If a robot for task creation restriction was set on one or more lists, task creation will be disabled in those lists for all people in the Workroom, regardless of their role. If the robot is set on all lists, then the "Create task" context menu entry will not be visible on assets.
People with a visitor role cannot create tasks on any list.
It is not possible to create tasks on Portal snapshots.

Click the "Create new task" button in a task list.
A text field appears. Enter the task's name.
Either confirm the field with the "Confirm" icon , press ENTER on your keyboard or click anywhere outside of the field to create the task.
The new task is listed on the top position of the task list.

This action is not possible for Portal snapshots.

Navigate to the asset explorer to create one or multiple tasks and automatically attach selected assets to them:

Select one or multiple assets in the content area of the asset explorer, open the context menu and click on "Create tasks".

You can also find the action in the magic menu or in the action area.
A new "Create tasks" dialog opens.
In the dialog:

Select a task list in which you want to create the task.

In the drop-down, you can only see lists where you have the permission to create tasks.
Select the number of tasks you want to create (a single task for all selected assets or separate tasks for each asset).

This option will only be available if you selected multiple assets.

If a subtask gets too complex, it is best to convert it to a task. In this way, you can ensure that it gets the attention it deserves.

In task details, navigate to the "Subtasks" section. By default, this section is expanded.
Click on the "More actions" menu on the subtask and select "Convert to task" option. A dialog will open.
In the dialog, select a task list in which you want to create the task.

In the drop-down, you can only see lists where you have the permission to create tasks.

Click on "Convert" to finish.
The subtask will be removed from the section and a new task created in the selected list.

The following info will be copied:

Name. The newly created task will have the same name as the subtask.
Assignees. If the subtask was assigned to people, the assignees will be copied to the newly created task.
