Configure Portal details

The Portal designer is used to configure the details of your Portal and the Portal preview inside the Portal designer will reflect all changes you make to your settings. To access the Portal designer click on a Portal on the Experience dashboard.

Revert changes in the Portal designer

Undo/redo single changes

While in the Portal designer you can undo single changes you made one by one with the key combinations:

Mac: Undo with command+z and redo with command+shift+z.
Windows: Undo with ctrl+z and redo with ctrl+y.

Revert to last published state

The Portal designer also has a built-in option to undo all changes done between the current state and last published state of the Portal. The Revert button will appear on the left of the Publish/Update button after you make a change to the Portal. To revert all changes:

Click the "Revert to last published state" button.
Confirm your action in the dialog that appears.
All changes you made will be undone and the Portal will be reverted to the last published state. This means all unpublished changes from all curators will be removed.

Choose Portal languages

You can choose the language of your Portal in the "General settings" panel, available right after you access the Portal designer.

Click the drop-down under "Portal languages".
Select at least one of the offered language options for your Portal.
All selected languages will appear on a chip under the menu.

Set the browser tab title

You can set the text for the browser tab of your Portal:

Enter the text you would like your visitors to see on the browser tab.
The text will appear on the browser tab of your Portal after you publish or update your Portal.

If you have set multiple languages for your Portal you will also be able to define the text in all the languages you set.

Add disclaimer confirmation

You are able to set a disclaimer for your Portal. For example a copyright disclaimer.

The disclaimer will pop up for all users right before they enter the Portal for the first time after the disclaimer was set. The Portal will only be shown to users after they have agreed to the disclaimer text by clicking "Confirm". If they do not agree the dialog will keep showing up and they will only be able to see the Portal in the background but unable to enter the Portal.

If you edit your initial disclaimer you can reset the confirmation for your Portal visitors. This means your visitors who already have agreed to the previous disclaimer will be presented with the new disclaimer before entering the Portal.

Setting a disclaimer is very simple:

Click the "Request disclaimer confirmation" toggle button on the general settings tab of the Portal designer.
Enter your disclaimer text. You will have a text box for every language option for your Portal.
The disclaimer will be displayed for your users after you have updated your Portal.

If you have set multiple languages for your Portal:

If you enter text into every available text box for the disclaimer, the language text of the disclaimer will match the language of the Portal.
If you leave the disclaimer text box for a set language empty and the Portal has the English language set and you entered a disclaimer text for English, then the English disclaimer will be shown for the language with the empty text box.
If you leave the disclaimer text box empty for all set languages, an empty disclaimer dialog will be shown on the Portal.
