Work with folders

Just like folders on your computer, folders in a Workroom are used for storing and organising assets.

In a Workroom, all folders are organised in a folder tree. The folder tree is shown on the left side of the asset explorer in your Workroom. It consists of a root folder with the same name as your Workroom and all other folders that are hierarchically ordered underneath the root folder:

Roles and permitted actions

As a moderator or contributor, you don't have any restrictions for viewing and managing assets and folders in a Workroom.

People with a visitor role don't have access to the asset explorer and can't see folders.

Move a folder

Select a folder in the tree or asset list and right-click it to open the context menu.
In the context menu, click the "Move" action. A new "Move to" dialog shows you all folders.

Selected folder is inaccessible

The currently selected folder is deactivated in the dialog and you cannot select it or its child folders. It is shown in light gray color.
Choose a new parent folder where you want to move the selected folder.

Alternatively, you can create a new parent folder directly in the "Move to" dialog.
Click "Move".
The dialog closes and the selected folder and all its child folders are moved to the selected parent folder.

Rename a folder

Select a folder in the tree and right-click it to open the context menu.
In the context menu, click the "Rename" action.
Enter a different name for the folder in the new dialog that appears.
Click "Rename".
The dialog closes and the folder reflects the name change in the tree immediately.

Rename the root folder

The root folder of the folder tree always has the same name as the Workroom. To rename it you need to rename the Workroom.

View robots on folders

When at least one robot has been created on a folder, the folder will have a robot icon next to it in the folder tree and on the folder card. Click the icon the see the robots types.
