Creating exporter formats

You can export assets in different exporter formats (with distinct file extension). For each exporter format that you choose in the export job, a copy of the asset will be exported in that particular format's file extension.

Create exporter formats in the Content administration's "YouTube Exporter" tab:

  1. Open the "Exporter formats" tab.

  2. Click the "Create new exporter format" button to open the configuration dialog:
    Create new exporter format button

  3. In the configuration dialog, choose a download format that will be the basis for available file extensions.

    At least 1 download format must be configured in the Configuration Management Application (CMA), otherwise you cannot continue. To create a download format, follow the instructions in the "Download Formats" Customer Knowledge Base article.

  4. Give the exporter format a name.

  5. Choose one of the output file extensions that the chosen download format provides. All videos in scope for an export job that uses this exporter format will be uploaded to YouTube with the chosen file extension (e.g. as an MPEG or MP4 file).

    For the "Original file" download format, no additional "Output file extension" field will appear. Instead, each asset will be uploaded to YouTube in its original file format.

  6. Additionally, you can specify further configuration properties as key-value-pairs in the "Advanced configuration" field. The key-value-pairs must look as follows:

    propertyKey1=propertyValue1

    propertyKey2=propertyValue2

    In this field, you can enter configurations that are not covered by any of the other fields in the configuration dialog. For more information on all available configuration properties, see the Formats chapter and its sub-chapters in the Customer Knowledge Base.

  7. Click "Create".

  8. The configuration dialog closes, and the new exporter format is listed on the "Exporter formats" tab.
