Document localisé en français pour les limitations (French localised document for limitations): Limites actuelles de l'importation de modèles de contenu.
You can import InDesign files (IDML) and Photoshop files (PSD) into the editor, for limitations see:
You can import InDesign files (IDML) into the editor while keeping key design elements intact. The resulting scene includes all the necessary assets, ready for immediate use. When importing IDML files into the Content Template Designer, certain limitations currently apply. The following is a list of identified issues to be aware of. Please note that this list is not exhaustive and will be updated as improvements are made.
Line Height: Only a single line height value per text block is supported (as a percentage of the font size). InDesign documents using different line heights within the same block may not import as expected.
Text Stories: Text distributed across multiple frames may not preserve the exact layout from the original IDML file.
Justification: Full text justification is not currently supported.
Text Style Options: Some advanced text styling features may not translate correctly. An update to address this is planned.
File Formats: PDF and EPS image files are not supported.
Embedded Images: Images must be embedded within the IDML file to be imported successfully. Linked images will not be imported.
Image Cropping: Images cropped to dimensions smaller than their frame in InDesign will not retain the cropped appearance after import.
Spreads: Multi-page spreads are currently imported as a single page within the Content Template Designer. A fix for this is scheduled.
Colour Translation: Some colours — especially those reused within style presets — may appear differently after import.
We recommend reviewing your imported templates for layout and style adjustments after import. This list will be updated as further improvements are released.
You can import Photoshop files (PSD) into the editor while keeping key design elements intact. The resulting scene includes all the necessary assets, ready for immediate use.
Element Grouping: Grouped items will stay together if possible and enabled.
Positioning and Rotation: Items keep their exact position and rotation.
Images: Images are supported, but you can't crop them yet.
Text: The font family will stay the same, and you can either provide a font link or use Google Fonts. Currently, only bold and italic styles are supported.
Shapes: Basic shapes like rectangles, ovals, polygons, and lines are supported, as well as custom shapes, though some may look slightly different.
Colours and Strokes: Solid colours, line thickness, and alignment will be accurately transferred. Gradient fills are not yet available.
Transparency: Transparency is maintained to ensure smooth integration.
Group handling and text formatting.
Group support is limited, especially for groups with just one layer.
Different font sizes within the same text layer are not supported.
You can't use more than one font family in a single text layer.
Text justification is not supported.

Can I import an Adobe InDesign (INDD) file?
Adobe InDesign files (INDD) cannot be imported directly. When you want to import files from InDesign you need to export them into an IDML format first.
Can I import files from Canva?
Canva does not offer direct PSD export. However, you can use the following workaround:
Download your design as a high-resolution PDF from Canva (Share > Download > File Type: PDF Print).
Open the PDF in Adobe Photoshop. The file will be rasterised, but you can save it as a PSD (File > Save As > Photoshop (PSD)).
If layer preservation is necessary, you’ll need to manually recreate layers in Photoshop.
Can I import files from Figma?
Figma does not natively export to PSD, but here’s a workaround:
Use a Figma-to-PSD plugin or a tool like Export Kit to export your design as a PSD.
Alternatively, export individual elements from Figma as PNG or SVG files and assemble them in Photoshop, then save as a PSD.
This method requires manual work to replicate layers but ensures compatibility.
Can I import an Adobe Illustrator (AI) file?
Adobe Illustrator files (AI) cannot be imported directly. However, you can convert your AI file into a PSD:
Open the file in Adobe Illustrator.
Choose File > Export > Export As.
Click "Select PSD" as the format, and ensure you preserve layers in the export settings.
Once exported, you can import the resulting PSD file.
Can I import files from Sketch?
Yes, you can export them as PSD using these steps:
Use Sketch’s built-in export feature: File > Export and choose PSD as the format.
After conversion, verify the layer structure in Photoshop and save the file.
If the PSD option isn’t available, use a third-party converter such as Avocode or XD2Sketch to convert your Sketch file to PSD.
What if I can’t find a way to convert my file into PSD?
If your software doesn’t support PSD export, the simplest workaround is to:
Export your design as high-quality image files (PNG, JPEG).
Open these images in Photoshop and manually recreate layers as needed.
For layered designs, export individual components or groups as separate images to make layer recreation easier.
Save the resulting file as a PSD for import.
Why does my CMYK PSD look different after importing it?
The issue of CMYK PSD files appearing completely different after import often arises because CMYK and RGB use fundamentally different colour models. Most digital tools are optimised for RGB, the standard for screen displays, while CMYK is tailored for print (you can create Content Templates for print none the less). When CMYK files are converted into RGB without proper colour profile mapping, colours can shift significantly, as the two models have differing colour ranges (gamuts). Additionally, embedded colour profiles in PSD files may not be recognised or handled correctly during the import process, leading to further discrepancies.
To address this:
Open the file in Photoshop.
Convert it from CMYK to RGB via Edit > Convert to Profile.
Save the file with a standard RGB profile (e.g., sRGB IEC61966-2.1) before import.
