Configure Content-specific format settings

Formats are created and configured in the global format settings. While formats are automatically synced to CELUM Content, you may want to also synchronise them manually. This is useful if changes are made in the global format settings while the Content-specific settings are open.

1. Click on the "Refresh" button above the format list.

2. New formats and changes to existing formats are synchronised.

3. You can now find the synchronised changes in the format list.

1. Click on a format in the list. The format editing overlay opens over the whole page:
   

2. The overlay is split into two parts:

• On the left side, you can edit the Content-specific settings for the format.

• On the right side, you view the format details as defined in the format settings.

  The format details are read-only, you can only edit them in the format settings if you are an organisation manager.

3. Edit the Content-specific settings on the left side according to your needs. See the "Available settings" section below for more information.

   The available settings depend on the specification used for the format when it was created.

4. Click "Save" in the upper right corner of the overlay. The overlay closes.

Available settings

• Standard file name resolver: Determines the file name of the output file when an asset is downloaded in the current format by selecting from the following standard options:

  This field is mutually exclusive with the "Custom file name resolver" field. If you set a value for the "Custom file name resolver" field, this field will be reset to "None" automatically.

  • assetIdlFilenameResolver: The downloaded file is named in the pattern <asset ID>.<extension>

  • assetNameResolver: The downloaded file is named in the pattern <asset name>.<extension>

  • originalResolver: The downloaded file is named after the asset's original file.

  • None: Do not use a File Name Resolver. The downloaded file is named after the asset's original file.

• Custom file name resolver: Determines the file name of the output file when an asset is downloaded in the current format by selecting from custom options. The available options depend on your system configuration.

  This field is mutually exclusive with the "Standard file name resolver" field. If you set a value for the "Standard file name resolver" field, this field will be reset to "None" automatically.

• Interceptor: Executes additional actions on the asset during download.

  Expected configuration syntax and available interceptors

  The interceptor configuration must follow one of two patterns:

  • interceptorWithoutOptions

  • interceptorWithOptions{option1=value1,option2=value2}

  The following interceptors are available out of the box:

  • imageEditorDownloadFormatInterceptor

  • messageBoxDownloadFormatInterceptor

  • paperFormatDownloadFormatInterceptor{configuration}

• Create converted file from: Determines whether a alternative preview of the original file should be used as source material for the creation of the output file. By default, the original file itself will be used.

  Available preview sizes and alternatives:

  • preview_small: An image with 250 × 250 pixels.

  • preview_medium: An image with 1024 × 1024 pixels.

  • preview_large: An image with 3000 × 3000 pixels.

  • preview_pdf: A PDF file.

  • preview_audio: An audio file.

  • preview_video: A video file with 1280 × 1280 pixels.

  • preview_source: An alternative preview, which depends on the file type of an asset. Not all assets may have an alternative preview.

  This setting is only available for formats based on the "downloadImage" or "downloadBinary" specification.

• Available in image editor: If you enable this setting, the format will be available as an output format in the image editor overlay that opens when users use the "Edit image" action on image assets.

If you are allowed to edit the details of a format in the global format settings, you have two ways to access the global format settings:

Option 1: From the format editing overlay

1. Click on a format in the list. The format editing overlay opens.

2. In the overlay, click the "Edit details in new tab" button above the format details on the right-hand side.

3. The global format settings open in a new browser tab. You may need to log in with your CELUM Cloud Account credentials.

4. Look for the format there and click on it to edit its details.

Option 2: Via the system bar

1. Close the Content administration overlay so you can see the system bar on the left side of the browser window again.

2. Click on the "Settings" icon in the system bar. The icon is located directly above your user avatar:
   

3. The global format settings open in a new tab. You may need to log in with your CELUM Cloud Account credentials.

4. Look for the format there and click on it to edit its details.
